The Denver Broncos may have found their quarterback of the future on Thursday night, selecting Oregon’s Bo Nix with the 12th pick in the draft.
Nix wasn’t at the draft in Detroit. Instead, he was at home with his wife Izzy and his family.
Bo and Izzy met at Auburn. In the summer of 2022, they tied the knot.
When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell officially announced the pick, Bo embraced Izzy before celebrating with the rest of his loved ones.
Later in the night, Izzy shared a selfie on Instagram. She was rocking a Broncos cap.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton has made it abundantly clear that he really wanted Nix as his quarterback.
“This is the night where everyone says, ‘We got our guy.’ I told (general manager) George (Paton), ‘I think we’re in position right where we’re at. Shoot, I could fly out there today and be the first one when we’re on the clock to knock on his door and make sure he knew that we were the one.’ But then I thought that might be a little difficult if something happened,” Payton joked. “I’d be in Birmingham, Alabama, and all of sudden, we have to divert the plane somewhere, so we stayed put. But we’re glad it worked out the way it did.”
Nix threw for 8,101 yards and 74 touchdowns during his career at Oregon. We’ll see if he can excel in Payton’s offense.
