Broncos offseason roster: No. 68, G Zack Johnson

June 10, 2022 by Broncos Wire

Broncos Wire‘s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at Denver Broncos first-year guard Zack Johnson, No. 68.

Before the Broncos: Johnson (6-6, 301 pounds) played college football at North Dakota State. A Minnesota native, Johnson was a two-time All-American in college. He earned a second-team honors notice in 2018 at right tackle. Then, the following season, Johnson earned a first-team honors notice at right guard. A three-year starter, the versatile lineman totaled 46 straight starts across the line in his final three collegiate seasons. Impressive.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Johnson isn’t likely to make the Broncos’ 53-man roster this summer. His sights are likely on making the practice squad. The reality of an undrafted rookie free agent. But Johnson gets to prove himself during training camp and the preseason. Much like undrafted free agents Malik Reed, Alexander Johnsson and Phillip Lindsay once did. So, never say never.
