The Rockies traded third baseman Ryan McMahon to the New York Yankees on Friday. Historically, they have made minimal moves at the deadline, so this was a big deal. In return, they got the Yankees’ No. 8 and No. 21 prospects, both pitchers (you can read more about the deal here).
That said, the official deadline is July 31st at 6pm ET/4pm MT. The Rockies could absolutely make more moves (as Renee Dechert laid out this morning), or they could stand pat after making a big-for-them move on Friday. It’s been a historically bad year full of changes, so anything could be possible.
