The procedure, according to Mayo Clinic, “is a procedure doctors use to destroy abnormal tissue that can be present in many conditions.” It is considered “minimally invasive” because the procedure does not require large cuts.
Manager Bud Black said, “He’s going to have this procedure. I think that the doctors feel it should help alleviate some discomfort. He should be back in a day or two, resuming activities.”
Bryant’s time with the Rockies has been plagued by injuries that have limited him to appearances in only 170 games during his four years with the Rockies.
In other injury news, Ezequiel Tovar continues to progress from a left injury. He is taking grounders and took batting practice today. Thairo Estrada is also recovering from an injury to his right wrist and is expected to start running today, as is Aaron Schunk (groin).
“The baseball activities are speeding up for those guys, which is great,” Black said.
Meanwhile, Austin Gomber has increased his long-toss distance to 90-feet.
