The top prospect was off to a hot start in Triple-A Albuquerque
The Colorado Rockies are promoting outfield prospect Jordan Beck (No. 6 PuRP) to the big league roster before their series in Miami on Tuesday. GoVols247, the University of Tennessee affiliate of the 247Sports network, was the first to report the news.

The Rockies, according to GoVols247, are expected to announce the news later today. Beck received the news on Sunday night and is traveling to meet the team in Miami.
MLB.com’s Thomas Harding initially hinted at the possibility of Beck’s promotion on Sunday night and confirmed the news on Monday.
OF Jordan Beck, No. 73 Top 100 and No. 4 #Rockies prospect per @MLBPipeline, has been summoned to Miami for Tuesday’s opener of 3 vs. #Marlins. No corresponding moves have been made, but it’s likely OF Nolan Jones (back stiffness) goes to the IL. @GoVols247 reported first.

The Rockies drafted Beck 38th overall in 2022. A former University of Tennessee Volunteer, Beck quickly rose the Rockies system in his first full year as a pro in 2023. Across 126 games split between High-A Spokane and Double-A Hartford, he slashed .271/.364/.503 with 25 home runs, 20 stolen bases and 91 RBI.
He entered the year in multiple Top 100 prospect lists, including a No. 73 ranking by MLB Pipeline who also ranked him as the No. 4 prospect in the Rockies Top 30 list.
Beck began his 2024 season in Triple-A with the Albuquerque Isotopes after a stellar spring training in which he received the Abby Greer Award, given to the team MVP in camp.

Beck played 18 games in big league camp, slashing .370/.433/.519 with seven RBI.
He got off to a hot start in Albuquerque hitting 307/.405/.594 through 101 at-bats in 25 games. Beck has hit five home runs, driven in 28 runs, has five stolen bases and scored 24 runs while playing solid defense at all three outfield positions.
A corresponding move is yet to be announced as the Rockies will need to open up space on the 40-man roster. Nolan Jones is headed to the injured list after dealing with back stiffness over the past week, including a flare-up on Sunday in Mexico City, which led to him being removed from the game. Kris Bryant or Kyle Freeland are potential candidates for the 60-day injured list as well.
Bryant injured his back in Toronto and was eligible to return last Wednesday, but as of April 27, has not resumed any baseball activities according to manager Bud Black. Freeland is sidelined with a left elbow strain as just another casualty in the pitching injury epidemic this season.
The Rockies could also opt to simply designate a different player for assignment.
Either way, Rockies fans should be excited for the injection of “Mike Honcho” who could bring some much-needed offensive energy to a lethargic lineup.
