The Rockies look to rebound from Tuesday’s collapse
After an unfortunate collapse that saw the Colorado Rockies surrender five runs in the ninth inning and lose in extra innings on Tuesday, they look to turn the page on a new day and rebound against the Miami Marlins.
They will send out Dakota Hudson (0-4, 6.57 ERA) who is looking to right the ship after struggles in his past two starts. Over his last 7 1⁄3 innings over two starts, Hudson has given up 10 runs on 13 hits and has issued nine walks against five strikeouts. Thanks to Ryan Feltner’s eight innings yesterday, the bullpen should be well-rested to pick up any slack should Hudson run into trouble again.
The Marlins send out newly recalled rookie pitcher Roddery Muñoz to make his second career start. The 24-year-old from the Dominican Republic last made a start on April 20 in which he allowed two runs on two hits, both were home runs, against the Chicago Cubs in five innings of work.
Jordan Beck made his MLB debut with the Rockies yesterday, picking up a pair of hits, and is in the starting lineup once again, batting eighth and playing left field.
