The Rockies look to pick up game three in the desert
After dropping the first two games in Arizona, the Colorado Rockies will look to bounce back and salvage game three in the desert. The Rockies are now 1-10 on the road to open this season and will need to find some traction to pick up their second road win of the year.
Austin Gomber will be looking to bounce back from his worst start of the year in which he gave up 9 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks to the San Francisco Giants in just 12⁄3 innings of work. Gomber didn’t have command of any of his pitches on Monday night and the Giants took full advantage. He was able to rebound from his previous worst start of the season, his first of the year, as he had a solid start his next time out. The lefty will have to show some of that resiliency again as he takes on the Diamondbacks.
Zac Gallen gets the call for this Saturday evening affair for Arizona. Gallen has had a solid start to the season, posting a 2.21 ERA in three starts. In his career, Gallen has faced the Rockies four times and has allowed a .292 batting average but does have a 1.96 ERA. In the past, the Rockies have generated traffic against Gallen but have been unable to cash in and the lineup will work to change that pattern tonight.
