Rockies look to bookend road trip with a victory in Philly
Despite outhitting the Philadelphia Phillies and getting a good start from Austin Gomber, the Colorado Rockies had no answer from Ranger Suárez as he shut them out 5-0 on Tuesday. Over the past three games, the Rockies have scored just one run and are still looking for consistency at the plate.
On the mound, they will look to continue their string of good starts behind Ryan Feltner (1-1, 3.38) who was the winning pitcher in their lone victory on the road trip. In his last outing, Feltner allowed two runs on eight hits while tallying four strikeouts and two walks over five innings.
He’ll be opposed by Cristopher Sánchez (0-2, 3.52 ERA) who makes his fourth start of the year. In his last outing, he allowed one run over six innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates, striking out six against three walks.
The Rockies lineup gets shaken up a bit as Sean Bouchard has been called up from Triple-A Albuquerque and will play left field in place of Nolan Jones who gets the day off. He takes the place of Kris Bryant who was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier today with a back strain.
