The Rockies aim for their third straight series win
Battling the rain and an early deficit, the Colorado Rockies (27-76) produced a stellar come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Orioles (45-58) on Friday. Now, the Rockies look to make it three consecutive series wins as they debut a new face on the roster.
Antonio Senzatela (4-13, 6.41 ERA) enters the day on the heels of a fantastic start against Minnesota. He allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings. The hope is that Senzatela can repeat the results but the early aggression shown by the Orioles against Kyle Freeland last night could spell some danger for Senza if he can’t induce the weak contact. He has struggled on the road a bit more than at home, posting a 6.43 ERA over nine starts.
Trevor Rogers (3-1, 1.74 ERA) started the year on the injured list and spent all of May in Triple-A, but over nine starts this season has been phenomenal for the O’s. In his last start, he allowed two runs on five hits over six innings, his shortest outing of the month. The lefty was a key figure in the trade with the Marlins last season, and while Kyle Stowers is having a breakout year for Miami, Rogers has easily been the best Baltimore starter over the last two months.
