Here’s a place to bring together the rumors and trades of the day.

It’s MLB Trade Deadline Day!

The Colorado Rockies have an off-day, but there will (hopefully!) be plenty of action off the field. Teams will no longer be able to make trades after 4:00 p.m. MDT, which means that all day, the rumors and transactions are sure to fly fast and furious.

As the day progresses, we’ll keep this tracker updated with the most pertinent rumors and the biggest deals that come to fruition.

The Rockies have already made two trades (Ryan McMahon to the New York Yankees and Tyler Kinley to the Atlanta Braves), and hopefully, they’ll come out of today with a roster that looks like the Rockies have a handle on their rebuild.

Rumors of the Day (July 31)

And Thomas Harding with a few more details:

It appears one of the Rockies few trade partners is addressing their bullpen issues.

  • 12:34 pm MDT: This is from Chad Jennings, the Red Sox (?) beat writer for The Athletic:

Rockies: How many relievers will they trade?

The Rockies rarely do much at the deadline, but this year they’ve made a bold trade — by their standards — sending Ryan McMahon to the Yankees. Is this the year they keep going and actually start to rebuild. Relievers Jake Bird, Victor Vodnik and Seth Halvorsen have been mentioned in various trade talks.

It’s not much, but there’s just no Rockies news to report.

  • 12:30 pm MDT: The Detroit Tigers are adding to their bullpen though it’s difficult to see what the underlying strategy is. (Seriously, this is a good team — with Tarik Skubal! — making seemingly random pitching additions at the deadline.)

The Rangers today announced that the club has traded RHP Codi Heuer to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations.

  • 11:24 am MDT: The Los Angeles Dodgers are also interested in Steven Kwan.

The Dodgers are among the teams with interest in Kwan, as @JonHeyman indicated on @MLBNetwork a short time ago. https://t.co/Odb4hZF89m

In addition, they have acquired reliever Brock Stewart.

  • 9:03 am MDT: The San Diego Padres are doing that thing again where they trade a lot of players.

The A’s are receiving shortstop Leodalis De Vries, the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball, along with three pitchers from San Diego for Mason Miller and J.P. Sears, sources tell ESPN.

  • 7:14 am MDT: Ken Rosenthal reports that Colorado Rockies’ Jake Bird, Seth Halvorsen and Victor Vodnik are relievers in play on the bullpen market, which is expected to be active today.

  • July 25, 11:41 am MDT: Mark Feinsand reported that the Rockies traded Ryan McMahon to the New York Yankees.
