The NBA playoffs got off to a great start with Saturday’s overtime matchup between the Nuggets and Clippers out west.
After looking like LA might start to pull away from the 2023 champs and steal Game 1 on the road, Nikola Jokic and Co. clawed their way back to a fourth quarter lead thanks to some timely plays from the likes of Russell Westbrook, Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun.
A hard-fought OT eventually ended up in a Nuggets win. But fans could definitely see this being one of the best series of the postseason:

“Thrilled to see our @nuggets take the first playoff victory against the Clippers!” said Colorado Gov. Jared Polis. “This team has shown incredible determination and heart, and I couldn’t be prouder. Let’s keep this momentum going! Go Nuggets!”
“Just watched an epic battle between the clippers and nuggets,” a fan replied.
“I need 7 games of that from clippers nuggets,” a user posted.
“Clippers Nuggets giving us a masterclass on the first day #NBAPlayoffs.”
“I can’t imagine another game in the entire playoffs being better than this one between the Nuggets and Clippers!!!” Peter Vecsey exclaimed.
“People will complain about the NBA product, but then not watch games like the Nuggets-Clippers OT classic we just witnessed,” another fan pointed out. “Incredible games still happen.”

If we can expect more games like this from these two teams it would be a huge win for the NBA. The Clippers aren’t going to go down without a fight and neither is Denver.
We’ll see if LA can even things up on Monday or if the Nuggets can take a 2-0 lead before the series shifts out to Inglewood.
