Charania reports that Grant plans to decline his $9.3 player option and become a free agent this offseason. Detroit, Phoenix, and Dallas are expected to show interest in signing Grant along with the Nuggets.
In his first regular season with the Nuggets, Grant appeared in 71 games averaging 12 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Grant was one of the Nuggets most efficient three-point players shooting just under 40 percent (38.9) from beyond the arc.
Grant really shined in the Nuggets run to the Western Conference Finals averaging 11.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 19 games. The defense in which Grant played throughout the playoffs is what really stood out, which truly played a massive role in the Nuggets making it as far as they did.
This is what Michael Malone had to say about Grant during his end of the season Zoom call with the media:
“I think he’s a big part of our future and I would love nothing more than to be able to continue to coach Jerami Grant the person as well as Jerami Grant the player, and I think he showed everybody in Nuggets nation just how valuable he is on those 19 playoff games.”
The Nuggets main plan this offseason has to be re-signing Grant and by the looks of it, it seems as if there is a big possibility it will happen.
