The Denver Nuggets waived guard James Akinjo. The Nuggets had signed Akinjo to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract.
Akinjo is expected to join the Grand Rapids Gold for the upcoming G League season.
The Nuggets roster now stands at 19 players. That includes Moses Brown and Kessler Edwards on Exhibit 10 deals. Denver has one open spot on their regular season roster. The Nuggets are slightly over the luxury tax, which increases the likelihood that they’ll leave that spot open to open the season.
