Nuggets negotiating to extend Aaron Gordon for less than the max

October 18, 2024 by Hoops Hype

Brian Windhorst: From what I understand, they are negotiating with Aaron Gordon. Aaron Gordon was eligible for a four-year, $150 million-ish contract extension. They haven’t handed out that offer, otherwise he would have signed it. From what I understand, they are negotiating and they’re hopeful of getting him at less than what would be his quote, unquote max. We’ll see if that get that done, but I think they’re trying to do a negotiation there.

More on this storyline

Katy Winge: The Nuggets are warming up in special shirts to honor Drew Gordon, Aaron Gordon’s brother, who tragically passed away this summer. They include Drew’s logo and number on the front and his tattoo on the back. Really special. pic.x.com/OvdM5cMMiX -via Twitter @katywinge / October 13, 2024
Gordon and the Nuggets enter the season in a familiar spot—members of the inner circle of favorites to win the 2025 championship. Denver made some big additions in the offseason to prepare for the long journey ahead. Future Hall of Famer, Westbrook. Veteran big man, Dario Šarić, who AG spoke glowingly about on Media Day. “Love them. Love ‘em. Love ‘em. Love ‘em. We got better,” Gordon said confidently to Nuggets.com. “I hate losing [Kentavious Caldwell-Pope] and Jeff Green, but I like our additions.” -via NBA.com / October 12, 2024
Ryan Blackburn: Aaron Gordon has confidence in both Christian Braun and Julian Strawther, no matter who ends up with the starters. “They’re fearless.” pic.x.com/0m9kseoxst -via Twitter @NBABlackburn / September 29, 2024
