Unlike Paul Rudd’s last Marvel movie, this Ant-Man didn’t disappoint as Anthony Edwards led the way for the Minnesota Timberwolves to a stunning Game 1 win over the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets. And Charles Barkley loved it.
The 22-year-old shooting guard scored 43 points for Minnesota in a 106-99 win. He also added seven rebounds and three assists.
Denver’s loss at Ball Arena was only the second that they’ve suffered at home in the postseason since last year’s title title run.
You could certainly color NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley impressed by what he saw from Edwards tonight. After the game, Barkley made it clear that he sees Anthony “Ant Man” Edwards as someone who is “here to stay” in the postseason for a very long time.
“Everybody saw Anthony Edwards. Ain’t no suspicion,” Barkley said. “Ant-Man is here to stay!”

What Edwards has done isn’t just great for Minnesota, it’s downright historic for someone his age.
According to Athlon Sports, Edwards’ back-to-back postseason games with 40-plus points makes him the first player to do so at the age of 22 since the late-great Kobe Bryant himself.
There’s still a lot of basketball left to play in this series, let alone the rest of the playoffs. But with the way things are going for the man nicknamed “Ant-Man,” the 2024 NBA playoffs might wind up going down as his true coming out party to the rest of the association.
Game 2 is on Monday and will be played at Ball Arena.
