The Denver Nuggets pulled out a good road win over the Houston Rockets on Friday. Unfortunately, the Nuggets lost Aaron Gordon during the process. Gordon exited the game in the game early due to hamstring soreness.
The injury is believed to be similar to the one Gordon played through in last season’s playoffs. With Denver’s goal to make a Finals run, the Nuggets will prioritize their starting power forward’s health over regular season success.
“We’ll sit down again after tonight, with the discomfort that he had,” Nuggets coach David Adelman said. “We’ll find out what the severity is. … Aaron is a strong personality that knows what his body feels like, and so part of that conversation is his, too. The medical, the team, Aaron, and what’s right for him. Obviously, the goal is to get him to the end of the year, if we’re lucky enough to be in there. That’s the most important thing to me, and obviously Aaron’s long-term health as a player. Love the guy to death. So yeah, we’ll make the best decision for him, with his counsel as well.”
