As Colorado’s star wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter returns to the field to continue his Heisman Trophy push, more and more people are learning just how special of an athlete he is. But Leanna Lenee knew the truth about him well before most other people.
Lenee is Hunter’s fiancée. The two of them started dating back in 2022 when Hunter was still at Jackson State. This past February, she and Hunter announced their engagement.
Ahead of tonight’s big Colorado-Kansas State game, Lenee released a 10-minute TikTok video talking about how she met Hunter when he was in high school and she was in college. She explained that early in their relationship, Hunter would drive her to parties and pick her up later.
“I met [Hunter] in college,” Lenee said. “He was in high school. I was in the middle of outgrowing partying, but I still partied a lot… He would literally drive me and sit outside for hours while I was inside partying and then take us home… He never tried to change me. He let me do me.”
Lenee said that Hunter helped her get out of a part of her life where she hated men, but found him patient enough for her to grow out of some of her worst habits.
“The next reason how I knew my fiancée was the one is that he is so patient,” Lenee said. “When I met Travis, I met him at a time of my life where I hated men… So he was really patient with me in every sense… I was very toxic, had a lot of toxic traits, and Travis was very patient with me.”

The video has over 4,000 likes in just two hours and fans were grateful to see how relatable her experience was.
If Hunter does win the Heisman, or at least becomes an NFL Draft pick, he’ll be able to get her a lovely wedding present whenever the two are ready to tie the knot.
