Last night we got treated to plenty of college football drama as Week 1 took over Thursday night. Today should be no different with eight college football games on the schedule.
The games today don’t exactly feature the star power of Ohio State. But we will see an AP top 10 team in action as No. 10 North Carolina take on Virginia Tech to start the slate.
After UNC-Va Tech, two more Carolina-based ACC teams are in action as Duke take on Charlotte and Wake Forest host Old Dominion. At the same time, Eastern Michigan will be taking on St. Francis.
There will be a Big 12 team in action later as Kansas host South Dakota. An hour later, the Pac-12’s Colorado will be in action against Northern Colorado.
But the big game of the final timeslot will be Michigan State at Northwestern. The reigning Big Ten West champion Wildcats will begin their division title defense against the Spartans.
Here is the schedule for all eight college football games being played today (all times EST):
- No. 10 North Carolina at Virginia Tech, 6 pm, ESPN
- Duke at Charlotte, 7 pm, CBSSN
- Old Dominion at Wake Forest, 7 pm, ACC Network
- St. Francis (PA) at Eastern Michigan, 7 pm, ESPN 3
- South Dakota at Kansas, 8 pm, Big 12 Network/ESPN+
- Michigan State at Northwestern, 9 pm, ESPN
- Northern Colorado at Colorado, 9 pm, Pac-12 Network
- South Dakota State at Colorado State, 9 pm, FS1
That’s a pretty solid appetizer for what will hopefully be a superb main course of games on Saturday.
College football is finally back. And we couldn’t be more excited.
