CU’s former quarterback has inked a four-year deal
Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has officially put pen to paper, signing a four-year, $4.6 million rookie deal with the Cleveland Browns, including a $447,380 signing bonus.
Sanders was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the 142nd overall pick — an unprecedented slide for a player who spent most of last year projected as a top ten pick. Although Sanders likely expected a much more lucrative contract and even larger signing bonus, what’s done is done, and he now can focus on what he does best, dropping dimes and throwing touchdowns.
After Sanders’ signing, the Browns have signed all their rookies, with the former Buff being the final one to lock things in. He’ll enter training camp competing for a spot on the depth chart. While he’s likely currently seen as QB4 or QB5, his four-year deal suggests the Browns plan on keeping Shedeur around for a good chunk of time. It’ll be up to Sanders’ performance over the next couple of months to prove he belongs, and a solid showing in training camp could force the front office’s hand.
