The Buffs’ proudest WNBA star wants another ring.
Fresh off winning a WNBA title, Colorado Buffaloes legend Jaylyn Sherrod is back with the New York Liberty for the 2025 season.
After appearing in ten games last season, Sherrod played just one minute in the Liberty’s opening win over the Las Vegas Aces. But that’s also not a problem for the Birmingham, Alabama product.
She’s proven valuable to the Liberty as a team player and locker room presence, an intense, defensive minded guard who sets the tone and pushes New York’s stars. Those stars — Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones and now Natasha Cloud — make the Liberty favorites but it’s the Sherrods of the world that team them sharp and motivated.
That all said, there’s a decent chance Sherrod gets more playing time this season. She just spent the offseason at Athletes Unlimited and has sharpened her point guard skills. The two-time All-Pac-12 selection showed consistent development during her five years in Boulder and that should continue into her professional career.
