Deion Sanders Flips Commitment From Rising 2025 Football Recruit

Colorado football picked up a much-needed conference win on Saturday night, and two days later, the Buffaloes have earned a W on the recruiting trail.

Miami (Fla.) Northwestern three-star defensive back Antonio Branch, who had been committed to Penn State since June, flipped his pledge to the Buffaloes on Monday. The news comes after Branch officially visited Boulder this past weekend.

“Besides the football, the atmosphere, the mountains, oh my God, the view of that was gorgeous. The people there were wonderful. Nice and loving. It felt like family,” Branch’s mother Trina told On3Sports about her son’s decision.

Branch was on hand for the Buffaloes’ improbable overtime victory over Baylor Saturday. Colorado needed a Hail Mary from Shedeur Sanders to LaJohntay Wester on the final play of regulation to get to the extra session, where they scored on their opening possession and then forced a Bears fumble to seal the outcome.

Branch, who also officially visited Nebraska in April before taking a trip to Penn State in May, is the 40th-ranked safety in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

The 6-foot-2, 172-pound South Floridian is Colorado’s eighth verbal commitment in the 2025 class. He is the fourth-highest rated of the group, which also includes a pair of four-star prospects, offensive lineman Chauncey Gooden and wide receiver Quanell X. Farrakhan Jr.

Now 3-1 on the season and with Branch’s commitment in his back pocket, Deion Sanders will look to lead Colorado to another victory this Saturday against UCF.

A win by the Buffaloes would given them four on the year and match their 2023 total.
