Pac-12 action is back! (kinda)

At long last, the Colorado Buffaloes make their return to Pac-12 action! (Kinda)

On Friday afternoon, it was reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS that the Buffs will face off against Stanford, one of their former conference-mates, in a neutral site game in Phoenix this December. The game will be played at the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns. The official date and time of the matchup have yet to be announced.

The Buffs and Stanford, now members of the ACC, are familiar foes after sharing a conference for nearly 13 years. Colorado dominated Stanford during their time in the Pac-12, leaving with a conference record of 15-4 against the Cardinal.

The Cardinal are now led by another familiar foe, former Washington State coach Kyle Smith. The Buffs and Cougs played in three high-stakes battles in CU’s final year in the Pac-12, with Colorado’s win over Wazzu and Smith in the conference tournament ultimately being what punched their ticket to March Madness in 2023.

For a program that has found consistent trouble adding meaningful non-conference games, adding Stanford to their schedule is a big deal for Colorado. As soon as more information becomes available, we’ll keep you updated here at Ralphie Report.
