Former Colorado running back Dylan Edwards revealed his commitment to Kansas State.
Edwards, a Kansas native, posted a house emoji alongside a photo of him wearing a Wildcats jersey to announce his decision to go home.
After originally committed to Notre Dame, Edwards enrolled at Colorado. The four-star class of 2023 recruit tallied 321 rushing and 299 receiving yards during his first season with the Buffaloes.
Edwards averaged 4.2 yards per carry for the nation’s bottom-ranked rushing offense. He began his collegiate career with a bang, registering 159 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-42 upset win over TCU.
Edwards was one of 21 Colorado players to enter the spring transfer portal. Those departures include fellow running backs Sy’veon Wilkerson and Alton McCaskill IV.
Anthony Hankerson, who led the team with 78 carries, transferred to Oregon State during the winter. Deion Sanders’ program isn’t returning any running back who garnered more than two handoffs last season.
However, the Buffaloes reconfigured their depth chart by adding Ohio State’s Dallan Hayden and Rashad Amos from Miami (Ohio). They’ll also welcome true freshman Micah Welch to the fold.
Meanwhile, Edwards joins a Kansas State squad that averaged 204.1 rushing yards per game last season. Treshaun Ward transferred to Boston College, but DJ Giddens will return to the Wildcats after tallying 1,549 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023.
Following quarterback Will Howard’s transfer to Ohio State, Avery Johnson is poised to lead Chris Klieman’s offense. Kansas State scored 37.1 points per game during a 9-4 season.
