Colorado men’s basketball pairings announced by Pac-12

We have insight into the Buffs’ Pac-12 schedule

The Pac-12 announced on Monday the weekly pairings for the upcoming 2022-23 conference schedule. The exact schedule is not yet formalized, but we know every set of games the Colorado/Utah pair will have.

The Buffs will begin Pac-12 play in December, hosting the Arizona State Sun Devils on Dec. 1, then will visit the Washington Huskies on Dec. 4.

Once the Pac-12 schedule begins in earnest on Dec. 29, the Buffs (and Utes) will visit Cal and Stanford, then host Oregon and Oregon State (Jan. 4-8), visit UCLA and USC (Jan. 11-15), host Washington and Washington State (Jan. 18-22), and at Oregon and OSU (Jan. 25-29).

Then in February, the Buffs will host Cal and Stanford (Feb. 1-5), visit Utah (Feb. 8-12), visit Arizona and ASU (Feb. 15-19), host UCLA and USC (Feb. 22-26), before finally hosting Utah on Senior Day (March 1-4).

From a quick glance, the Buffs should be set up for early success. The Devils and Huskies should be better than last season, but there are harder games to begin the conference schedule with. That road trip to the Bay Area is the easiest away set in the conference. The Beavers are not good and the Ducks have famously never beaten Tad Boyle in Boulder.

The homestand is set up for some late drama, as the Buffs have a chance to knock off UCLA and USC in their final trips to Boulder in what should be intense games, especially the old Tad vs. Andy Enfield rivalry. The final game against Utah could be tricky if only because the Utes play well in the CU Events Center.

The final details will be released later in the summer.
