Colorado got humbled by Oregon last Saturday after starting the season 3-0.
Deion Sanders’ team didn’t look ready to play against Oregon and it resulted in a 42-6 loss.
After the loss, Sanders spoke to the media and said that teams are just trying to beat him, not the program.
“I don’t think there’s a target on our back, I think there’s just, teams are trying to beat me. They’re not trying to beat our team,” Sanders said.
“I don’t think there’s a target on our back… teams are trying to beat me, they’re not trying to beat our team. They keep forgetting I’m not playing.”

Colin Cowherd saw that quote and isn’t buying it.
“Deion is not overhyped,” Cowherd said. “What is overreported is the nonsense that a lot of people hate Deion Sanders for a lot of reasons. No, he’s not. He’s fun. This idea that the whole nation is rooting against Deion. He’s always been polarizing. This isn’t a new thing with him.”

Sanders is a different kind of coach in college football and some fans are still getting used to it.
That will also likely continue to be the case throughout the season.
