Buffs set to play Stanford in Naismith Hall of Fame Series

May 24, 2025 by Ralphie Report

NCAA Basketball: Stanford at Colorado
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Colorado will head to Phoenix for the December clash.

The Pac-12 may be dead, but the conference lives on in our hearts and minds, and also in the upcoming Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Series.

Two former Pac-12 foes will meet again in Phoenix, Arizona when the Colorado Buffaloes take on the Stanford Cardinal on December 20, 2025.

While the Buffs had a nightmare of a time in the Big 12, the Cardinal had their best season in ten years after moving to the ACC. Credit mostly goes to Kyle Smith, the former Wazzu head coach who took over for the disappointing Jarod Haase.

Stanford had standout seasons from Maxine Raynaud, Jaylen Blakes and Oziyah Sellers. They’re all gone, however, as Raynaud and Blakes graduated while Sellers moved on to St. John’s. Now Smith has to rebuild the roster or else lean on an inexperienced core.

Colorado will hopefully be better after their own rebuild season. Boyle brought back Elijah Malone and Bangot Dak, signed UC Davis guard Barrington Hargress, and will be banking on offseason development for Sebastian Rancik and Felix Kossaras. Other than that it’s mostly freshmen for the Buffs.
