With the NFL Draft just a few days away, Zach Wilson has been traded from the New York Jets to the Denver Broncos.
The Jets are sending Wilson and a seventh-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for a sixth-round pick. His salary for the 2024 season will be split by the two teams.
Several hours after the trade was announced, Wilson’s girlfriend, Nicolette Dellanno, commented on this deal.
Dellanno posted the news on her Instagram Story along with three orange heart emojis. That makes it seem like she’s excited about the move to Denver.
We’re not sure the Broncos will start Wilson in the regular season. They could end up drafting a quarterback in the first round this Thursday.
For now, Wilson has to be happy about getting a fresh start. Of course, it also helps that he’ll get to learn from an offensive guru in Sean Payton.
In three seasons with the Jets, Wilson completed 57 percent of his pass attempts for 6,293 yards with 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
Unfortunately for Wilson, he never lived up to the hype in New York. Luckily for the former No. 2 pick, his story isn’t completely written yet.
Time will tell if Wilson can shine in the Mile High City.
