Will Peyton Manning represent Colts or Broncos in Hall of Fame? QB chimes in on topic

February 12, 2021 by Broncos Wire Leave a Comment

When Peyton Manning was announced a member of the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame class last week, many fans pondered on social media if he will be enshrined in Canton, Ohio as a representative for the Indianapolis Colts or for the Denver Broncos.

Manning played the majority of his career with the Colts but he reached two additional Super Bowls with the Broncos and is one of just two starting QBs in NFL history who won a Super Bowl with two different teams.

So, who will Manning go into the Hall of Fame as a Colt or a Bronco? Manning said during his Zoom press conference Sunday that he will represent both teams — and his alma mater — in Canton.

“I’m honored to represent the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos as well as the University of Tennessee to join Doug Atkins and Reggie White as the only Tennessee Vols to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and to represent my hometown of New Orleans,” Manning said. “That’s the great thing about the Pro Football Hall of Fame. You go in and you take all the schools and teams and people that have been a part of your football life with you. I’m certainly honored to do that.”

Manning said his dad, Archie, will present him at his Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony in August.

“He’s had the greatest football impact on my football life,” Manning said. “He never was my coach, but he was always there to help. I sure did ask for his help a lot. He’s proud, and I’m thankful to him for all the help and support he’s given me throughout my life, especially in my football life.”
