Here’s what we think the toughest stretch of games will be for the 2025 Denver Broncos.
The Denver Broncos have their 2025 schedule out and the analysis of it has been saturated, but we’ve got a few more topics to cover before we move into roster review next week. The next one is asking the Mile High Report staff what they think the toughest part of their schedule is next season.
For me, it is the final six game stretch to end the season. Four playoff teams, but also a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders. While I don’t think the Raiders are any good, I don’t consider any road division game to be an automatic win either. Their other two road games during that stretch are against the Washington Commanders and Kansas City Chiefs — both in prime time.
The Broncos going into their Bye week with 7 or more wins is pretty vital for me because I could very easily see them going 3-3 during this stretch of games. They need to stack those wins early.
Scotty: On paper, the Los Angeles Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Philadelphia Eagles stretch.
John: This team is too talented to be worried about opponents. The hardest part will be when we are the most banged up, opponents don’t matter to it.
Hart: Scotty mentioned a trio that will be a gauntlet for the Broncos early on in the year. But I’ll head in a different direction on the hardest stretch. Five of the Broncos’ last eight games are against divisional opponents. The battle for the AFC West begins in the second half of the season. If the Broncos falter early on, they aren’t going to have much margin for error come November and December. They have to perform well in that stretch to have a shot at the division title.
Ian: Scotty mentioned the games starting at Week 3, and while the opponents may not be “tough” following that trio of games, the travel following those games and how Denver responds could spell the key to the season. Facing the Eagles, immediately going to London, and coming back home for two games could be a difficult stretch. I also agree with Hart on those divisional games.
Ross: Those two games against perennial NFC contenders that are bookmarked by two games against the Chiefs is a tough four games, but a massive reward awaits Denver.
Adam: It’s very likely that the Broncos will be in a battle for the AFC West as they near the end of the season. Navigating through the Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars, followed by the Chiefs four days later on Christmas, and then ending the season against the Chargers is no easy task. Add in the pressure of a potential division title on the line and that stretch of games could be a surprise gauntlet.
Joe: It will be the first four games. Dealing with expectations of success. This team will not be able to “sneak up” on teams this year like they might have last season.
Taylor: Weeks 3 – 5. There are other points in the season that could end up being tough or crucial based on standings, injuries, etc. But for pure difficulty of opponents, especially with 2/3 away games, nothing matches that Week 3 – 5 gauntlet. That stretch will be the part of the season that tells us the most about what level this team is on in 2025.
