The Denver Broncos’ Super Bowl odds shot up the board to the fifth-highest once Russell Wilson decided he wanted to don Blue and Orange Crush next season, leaving his Seattle Seahawks nest.
Wilson was the team’s big offseason splash, but receiver Tim Patrick believes re-signing safety Kareem Jackson completes the “missing piece” to the team’s Super Bowl puzzle.
Speaking to the media Wednesday, Patrick gushed about Jackson.
“In my opinion, it was the last missing piece that we needed,” Pactrick said. “Honestly, ‘K-Jack’ is a leader, and he’s a tempo-setter on that defense. The way he talks, the way he hits — not many people are hitting people the way he does and that just gets everybody excited.
“The way he carries himself in the locker room, he’s a veteran in this league and has seen a lot of football. He helps the young guys. He helps us in life and helps us in football. In my opinion, he was our missing piece that we needed to sign.”
Jackson is poised to start next to Justin Simmons again this season, but Caden Sterns will also be pushing for more playing time.
