Report: WR A.T. Perry will be the only member of the Broncos to start training camp on the PUP

Denver Bronco OTAs

The Broncos reportedly get some good news on the injury front as they head into training camp.

According to DNVR’s Zac Stevens, wide receiver A.T. Perry will start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He continues by saying that Perry will be the only member of the team to start camp on the PUP, which is good news.

Breaking: As Sean Payton eluded to during Broncos minicamp, WR A.T.

As Stevens mentions, Head Coach Sean Payton told reporters during the Broncos minicamp practices that Perry would start camp on the PUP, so this is not a huge surprise. However, the fact that he is the only player to receive this designation is great news.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw seemed like a candidate for the PUP list since he missed the entire offseason and suffered a quad injury during the spring. Hopefully, this means his quad and Achilles are in a good place, and we can see him on the practice field sooner rather than later. Another candidate was safety P.J. Locke, who underwent spinal fusion surgery this offseason. I am no doctor, but that doesn’t sound fun, and it is a good sign that he appears good to go for the start of training camp.

Outside of those two, the only other candidates would have been tight end Evan Engram and safety Talanoa Hufanga. Both are coming off injuries from last season, but did practice all offseason, so they are good to go.

After Sean Payton was hired as the Broncos’ Head Coach, one of his first orders of business was revamping the team’s strength and conditioning team. They went from being one of the most injured teams in the league to being one of the healthier ones these past two seasons. We are seeing that again as the Broncos will enter camp relatively healthy and hopefully, this trend continues throughout the year once again this upcoming season.
