The Dallas Cowboys could be in the market for a reliable starting cornerback, so they could be in the market for Denver Broncos starter, Riley Moss, before the 2025 regular season starts. According to Bleacher Report, they think that Dallas should go for Moss to salvage their secondary unit, as Denver has one of the deepest and talented cornerback departments in the league. After taking Jahdae Barron in the first round, the Broncos could put at least one of the potential starters on the trade block, and that could be Moss, who has been a trade candidate ever since they got Barron.
Originally selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the former Iowa product is an emerging top-quality corner, but the starting job he had in Denver last year could be lost to Barron. The former 2025 first-rounder has been having a solid preseason, and the Cowboys are in dire need of a cornerback. This means the Broncos sending Moss would make all the sense in the world for both sides, including the Cowboys, who face an uncertain future between Daron Bland and Trevon Diggs. Bland is entering the final year of his contract, and Diggs hasn’t been able to stay healthy since signing his extension a few years ago, so it would be sensible for the Cowboys to invest in Moss, who is still in a cheap, cost-controlled rookie deal.

Best Fits
New Orleans Saints
After agreeing on another trade involving wide receiver DeVaughn Vele, the two could come to terms on another deal. The New Orleans Saints have arguably one of the worst secondary units in the league, and it’s not even close. Between Kool-Aid McKinstry and Alontae Taylor, there is some room for improvement here, as both are entering the 2025 campaign as full-time starters for the first time in their careers. With Paulson Adebo and Marshon Lattimore, Moss could spark this pass secondary back into shape like they once was a few years ago.
Carolina Panthers
Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers made some improvements this offseason on their defense, but it might not be enough. After re-signing both Michael Jackson and Jaycee Horn, they could use one more cornerback to put this unit over the top. Moss is a reliable starter in this league, entering his third year, and has plenty of seasons ahead of him, so why not get him in the mix when you already have one of the best safeties in Tre’Von Moehrig?
Los Angeles Chargers
After an impressive 2024 campaign when it came to the secondary, there are a few changes that happened here, but the Chargers could use some depth. While Tarheeb Still and Ja’Sir Taylor are emerging as the talented nickelbacks, they could thrive even more if you throw in someone like Moss. They have some help on the way from newcomers, Donte Jackson and Benjamin St-Juste, but Moss could fight for a starting spot against 2024 draft pick Cam Hart.
Kansas City Chiefs
While the Kansas City Chiefs have three reliable starting cornerbacks in Trent McDuffie, free agent signee Kristian Fulton and Jaylen Watson, the team should continue to build on top of what they have. With Watson entering the final year of his contract, maybe Moss might not need to start for this team. The Chiefs have one of the best rosters in the league, so Moss could easily find something in this defensive secondary and add more star power.
