The Denver Broncos made an attempt to trade for Matthew Stafford before the Detroit Lions agreed to send him to the Los Angeles Rams. If the Houston Texans grant Deshaun Watson’s trade request, the Broncos will also pursue him.
Denver won’t go after the Philadelphia Eagles’ disgruntled quarterback.
The Broncos “are not in” on Carson Wentz, according to a report from KMGH-TV’s Troy Renck. The Eagles are willing to trade Wentz, and they’re hoping for a hefty return. Philly might get multiple high-round draft picks for Wentz, but not from Denver.
The Indianapolis Colts have been heavily linked to Wentz in trade rumors. The Chicago Bears have also been frequently mentioned as a potential landing spot for the 28-year-old quarterback (one report even dubbed Chicago the “front runner” to acquire Wentz).
If Wentz lands with the Bears, he won’t face the Broncos often. Wentz matched up against Denver once with the Eagles. He completed 55.56% of his passes for 199 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in Philly’s 51-23 win over the Broncos in 2017.
