The Denver Broncos are still in the market for a quarterback, but they might not land one of the top draft prospects if they stay put at No. 9.
Draft Wire’s most recent mock draft has the top five QB prospects going off the board in the first eight picks, before Denver even goes on the clock. If that kind of scenario actually happens on the draft day, general manager George Paton will need to move up if he wants to secure one of the top QBs.
The Atlanta Falcons are listening to offers for the fourth overall pick, and the Broncos might make sense as a potential trade partner. Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are expected to be the first two picks and there have been rumblings that Mac Jones could go third overall. That would leave Justin Fields as a potential target at No. 4.
If the Broncos do move up, Fields or Trey Lance would presumably be the target. Given that Lance is expected to need more time to develop than some of the other prospects, Fields might be the most likely QB target for Denver.
Should the Broncos trade up to make sure they get Fields (or whoever their QB target is)? Let us know your take by voting in our Twitter poll!
