We’re back at it with Week 9. Jess Place, Laurie Lattimore-Volkmann, and I will be dueling it out this season for the best straight-up NFL picks guru on Mile High Report.
Welcome to Week 9!
It was a brutal week for all of us, but I came out just barely ahead of Laurie to close the gap on her lead to just a single game. Jess needs another 14-win week and since he’s done it already once before I won’t count him out just yet. My week rides on two games and they were risky picks. I need the Philadelphia Eagles to sneak up on the Los Angeles Chargers and the Carolina Panthers to send the New England Patriots packing.
In our Yahoo community pick’em group, my bad week dropped me to second place. It’s a packed crowd there from first to fifth. There was only one double-digit winner last week and that was a user name TimPatrickisUnderrated. His user name is truth and he also logged 10 wins last week.

Broncos-Cowboys Betting Odds
Looking at the betting line for the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, I was curious to see how the Von Miller trade and Dak Prescott being good to go affected the previous seven-point opening line. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the result was a shift in favor of the Cowboys to a nine-point spread. Not quite as high as I expected in all honesty.
