After serving a one-year internship with the Denver Broncos, Jett Modkins will be hired by the Detroit Lions as an assistant special teams coach, according to KMGH-TV’s Troy Renck. He is the son of Curtis Modkins, Denver’s running backs coach.
Modkins was part of the Broncos Diversity Coaching Intern program last season, serving as an offensive quality control coach. He played running back at Arizona community colleges in Glendale and Mesa before volunteering as a defensive coach with Akron University in 2019.
Curtis Modkins has served as Denver’s RBs coach since 2018. Curtis interviewed for the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator position last month but will remain with the Broncos after Philly hired Shane Steichen.
