The Denver Broncos have one of the more unsettled quarterback situations in the NFL heading into the summer.
Denver drafted Bo Nix No. 12 overall in April, adding him to a quarterback room that already included Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson.
Stidham started the final two games of the 2023 season for the Broncos, while Wilson was acquired via trade with the New York Jets this offseason. Right now, head coach Sean Payton is rotating all three with the first team in OTAs.
Nix is the rookie first rounder, while Wilson is the outside reclamation project. As for Stidham, the journeyman vet said last week he has every intention of winning the job.
“I’ve dealt with this before when I was in New England with Mac Jones,” Stidham said, via the team’s website. “It’s a business and I totally understand it, but at the same time, I’m here to compete. I’m not going to just sit down and let someone else walk in here and [just take the role]. I’m going to work my butt off to get the job. I’m super excited about it.”
Stidham, 27, added that he’s “way more comfortable” in the offense now than he was during the season. The former fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots took first-team reps on Tuesday, followed by Wilson on Wednesday and Nix on Thursday.
“Look, we go by what we see,” Payton said. “We try to get them as many reps as possible. We’re rotating all of them right now. … We’ll keep doing that right now.”
In three games last season, Stidham completed 40-of-66 passes for 496 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
