The Denver Broncos won’t be adding quarterback Carson Wentz to their roster, at least not this offseason.
The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Philly will receive a third-round pick in 2021 and a conditional second-round pick in 2022 that could turn into a first-round pick, according to multiple reports.
The Broncos were “never in” the Wentz sweepstakes, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. That confirms earlier reports that Denver had no interest in the 28-year-old quarterback.
The Broncos were interested in Matthew Stafford but failed to get a deal done with the Detroit Lions, who agreed to trade the QB to the Los Angeles Rams instead.
Denver is also interested in Deshaun Watson, but the Houston Texans have said they do not plan to trade him. If the Texans change their mind and grant Watson’s trade request, the Broncos will be among the QB’s suitors.
