Broncos Country mourns a Super Bowl-winning coach.

Former Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Greg Knapp passed away on Thursday in the days following being struck by a car while riding his bicycle. He was 58-years old.

Broncos Country will always remember Knapp for his contribution to the Super Bowl 50 championship in 2015. A tumultuous year that involved the benching of Peyton Manning and the steady performance of backup quarterback Brock Osweiler, it was Knapp’s careful stewardship of the position that helped the Broncos to their third championship.

In addition to the Super Bowl, Knapp also oversaw Peyton Manning’s record-crushing 2013 season where he amassed the most passing touchdowns (55), passing yards (5,477), and tied the record for most touchdowns in a game (7).

Greg Knapp enjoyed stints with the Chiefs, Raiders, and 49ers as a player, but his true calling was a coach. What he began at Sacramento State, he took to the NFL with the 49ers, Falcons, Raiders, Seahawks, and Texans. At the time of his passing he was serving as the pass game specialist for the New York Jets.

Knapp leaved behind his wife Charlotte and three daughters, Jordan, Natalie, and Camille.

May he rest in peace.

RIP Coach Greg Knapp. Always enjoyed our conversations on and off the field. Awesome person
