Deshaun Watson wasn't mentioned in George Paton's introductory press conference

Deshaun Watson is unhappy with the Houston Texans, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 25-year-old quarterback request a trade.

During his (virtual) introductory press conference on Tuesday, new Denver Broncos general manager George Paton wasn’t asked about the possibility of trying to trade for the three-time Pro Bowl QB, but he was asked about his willingness to make trades while with the Minnesota Vikings.

“We’re going to look at every situation. We’re going to be in every deal and if it’s right for the Denver Broncos, we’re going to make that move.”

Paton was asked about the QB position in general.

“The quarterback is the most important position in sports,” Paton said. “So if you don’t have stability at quarterback, you’re going to have a hard time sustaining winning … we all want a franchise quarterback. That’s your No. 1 goal, trying to draft and develop or acquire any way you can.”

Watson has played against the Broncos twice in his career, completing 60.81% of his passes for 505 yards with three touchdown passes against two interceptions. He also rushed 12 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns in those contests. Denver split the two games against Houston 1-1.

In his career (54 games), Watson has completed 67.8% of his passes for 14,539 yards with 104 touchdowns against 36 interceptions. He’s also a threat on the ground, rushing 307 times for 1,677 yards and 17 touchdowns.

The Broncos have the fourth-best odds to acquire Watson.
