Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson reported to training camp on Sunday to avoid being fined, according to multiple reports.
Despite being present at camp, Watson will wants to be traded, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Texans likely won’t trade the quarterback until his legal situation has been resolved.
Watson is facing 22 lawsuits from women who have accused him of sexual assault and misconduct. Depending on the results of those suits, Watson probably won’t have a trade market anytime soon.
If the suits are dismissed or settled, Houston might be willing to trade Watson, and the Denver Broncos are expected to be among his potential suitors if he becomes available.
During a segment on NFL Network last week, Ian Rapoport indicated the Broncos are among four teams who are believed to still have interest in Watson.
“The Broncos have been, I would say, pretty outspoken about wanting to improve at the quarterback position,” Rapoport noted.
Rapoport also mentioned the Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles as teams who appear to be interested in Watson.
Denver will begin training camp practices on Wednesday with Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater competing for the starting quarterback job.
