This could be a common theme for the Broncos heading into the 2025 regular season.

NFL power rankings are always fun.
Or dumb.
It just depends on where your team falls in those power rankings.
For the Denver Broncos, one such list at CBS Sports had them at No. 4 on the AFC power rankings. That’s above the Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, and Houston Texans.
As the author of the power rankings said about the Broncos:
“I’m high on the Broncos entering this season. Bo Nix had a fantastic rookie year, and now he has RJ Harvey and Evan Engram to work with. Could Denver have done more offensively? Sure, but this defense may be incredible.”
Only the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills are above Denver on this particular list. But it’s not just this AFC power ranking that is high on the Broncos.
Kay Adams is another. On her show this week, she was discussing fits for players from the NFL Draft.
“Jahdae Barron to the Broncos … sexy pick,” Adams said. “I really like it. Between the Ravens, Texans, and Broncos, it’s been an arms race for who has the best secondary in the NFL. As far as Jahdae is concerned, we talked a couple of months ago, and the word versatility, that buzzword, kept coming up. Playing in the slot, playing outside, at safety, run stuffing. None of that means anything if you don’t go to the maniac who knows how to use it. And Sean Payton is that said maniac.”
Adams took it even further, following those statements with a bet she likes:
“By the way, Denver, I’m looking at it right now, there’s still value there (at FanDuel Sportsbook): +104 to make the Playoffs; +400 to win the AFC West. I like that.”
For what it’s worth, the Broncos are now +340 to win the AFC West.
Given where this franchise was a year ago, this is all incredible. It’s been a minute since Denver has been in this situation.
