I hope Montfort is listening. I’m a huge Rox fan, to the point of staying up to watch at early morning here in UK. But…I simply have lost interest! I know there are financial limits. And the next 2-3 years maybe rocky (pun not intended), but you can crash this team right now. With the other 2 competing for attention teams on the rise.
Making a commitment to Story and telling Nolan you aren’t trading him would give us reason to trust. Yes, it will take great years from complementary players to challenge for WC, but, building around longtime commitments to the left side would give fans reasons to come back to Coors. Sometimes you have to have losses (financially) in near term to have future financial success (that’s my MBA talking. But if you dump these two, you tell fans that we should ignore you. Unless the Dodgers and Pads are in town (so we can see real talent).
If I were Black I would run after my contact ends if they dump that left side. It may take that to prove to Montfort that his loyalty in Bridich is leading to destruction. I like Monfort and he has been a good owner for small market team. I like seeing loyalty in this age. But we are truly on the verge of making this team worse than unwatchable…boring.
When you make me ignore all of September games, you have lost your most loyal customers. And in business terms, that cycle leads to disastrous end.
