Colin Cowherd, the host of “The Herd” on Fox Sports, doesn’t like that Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is cool, apparently.
“[He’s a] little too cool for me,” Cowherd said during Wednesday’s show. “Little too casual … he ain’t it, as the kids say … too casual, just doesn’t play with enough urgency … he’s a little too cool for the room … cool guys don’t win in this league.
“Baker [Mayfield] tries to be too cool, Johnny Manziel tried to be too cool, Cam Newton sometimes was more worried about being cool. Don’t be cool. Be urgent.”
One could argue that Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes — who met in the Super Bowl last season — are two of the coolest QBs in the NFL. That’s a matter of opinion, though, and Cowherd might not feel the same way.
Around this time last year, Cowherd said he believed the Broncos “found their quarterback in Drew Lock.” Cowherd’s praise quickly turned to criticism when Denver started losing, and he disapproved of Lock’s dancing.
Lock brushed off the criticism with a lighthearted ribbing of Cowherd.
“I definitely got it sent to me and truthfully I feel like the person … that person just might not be able to dance as well as I do,” Lock said.
