Chris Simms of NBC Sports and Pro Football Talk recently released his rankings of the Top 40 quarterbacks in the NFL and he has Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson ranked No. 7 on the list.
“[He’s] still one of the best big-play QBs in the NFL,” Simms said of Wilson on one of his recent podcast episodes. “There’s no doubt about that.”
The quarterbacks Simms has ranked above Wilson are (listed from No. 1 to No. 6) Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow, Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford. Pretty good company to be in.
The quarterbacks ranked immediately below Wilson are Tom Brady, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Derek Carr and Kyler Murray.
Meanwhile, former Broncos quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater (No. 38) and Drew Lock (No. 40) got little love from Simms. Lock is the lowest-ranked QB on the list and Bridgewater is only ranked above Kenny Pickett and Lock.
Denver made a massive upgrade at quarterback this offseason.
