The Denver Broncos’ game against the New England Patriots in Week 5 was originally scheduled to air on CBS on Sunday. Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) and Trent Green (analyst) were set to call the game with Melanie Collins reporting from the sideline.
After the Patriots had multiple cases of COVID-19 and missed three days of practice last week, the NFL moved the game from Sunday to Monday. The change of day also meant a network change, from CBS to ESPN.
Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit are now set to call the Broncos-Patriots game with Laura Rutledge on the sideline, according to the New York Post‘s Andrew Marchand. Fowler and Herbstreit are ESPN’s top college duo.
After calling the Miami-Clemson game on Saturday, Fowler and Herbstreit will travel to New England to call an NFL game on Monday. Fowler and Herbstreit also called one of ESPN’s two “Monday Night Football” contests in Week 1.
