Caleb Farley has met virtually with the Denver Broncos “multiple times” this offseason, the Virginia Teach cornerback told The Gazette‘s George Stoia III.
Before he underwent back surgery, Farley was the No. 1-ranked cornerback in this year’s class, according to Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling. It remains to be seen how last week’s surgery might impact Farley’s draft stock.
In contrast to Farley, Alabama’s Patrick Surtain II — widely considered at least the No. 2 CB in this year’s class — has not yet spoken with Denver, according to Stoia. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Broncos won’t meet with Surtain later, and even if they don’t, that doesn’t guarantee Denver has no interest in Surtain.
In fact, the Broncos might feel like Farley needs to be studied more because of his injuries and possible red flags. That’s simply speculation, though.
Farley totaled 56 tackles, 19 pass breakups, six interceptions, one sack and one defensive touchdown in two seasons (23 games) with the Hokies from 2018-2019 before opting out of the 2020 season.
