Broncos WR KJ Hamler out for season with torn ACL

September 27, 2021 by Broncos Wire Leave a Comment

Denver Broncos speedy second-year receiver KJ Hamler will miss the rest of the 2021 season after tearing his ACL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hamler suffered the injury during Sunday’s 26-0 win over the New York Jets.

Since being selected by the Broncos in the second round of last year’s NFL draft out of Penn State, Hamler has totaled 543 all-purpose yards and has scored three touchdowns. He missed three games with injuries last season.

With Hamler out, Denver’s remaining healthy receivers on the active roster are Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, Diontae Spencer and Kendall Hinton (Jerry Jeudy is on injured reserve).

The Broncos also have receivers Tyrie Cleveland, Seth Williams, De’Mornay Pierson-El and Rico Gafford available on the practice squad.

Elsewhere on the injury front, starting guards Graham Glasgow (knee) and Dalton Risner (foot) are also injured, as is linebacker Jonas Griffith (hamstring).

Second-year guard Netane Muti is Glasgow’s backup and rookie guard/center Quinn Meinerz is Risner’s backup.

This week, the Broncos will host the Baltimore Ravens, who have been dealing with plenty of injuries of their own.
