Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy looked 'outstanding' this spring

July 23, 2021 by Broncos Wire Leave a Comment

As the Denver Broncos prepare to begin training camp, one player’s stock is seemingly already on the rise.

Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has been praised by the team’s coaching staff throughout the offseason, and Vic Fangio has declared Jeudy more mature, confident, focused and diligent than he was last offseason.

Pat Shurmur, Denver’s offensive coordinator, added to the praise last month.

“I think Jerry has really done an outstanding job in practice,” Shurmur said on June 16. “I don’t have anything to base offseason to offseason because we didn’t have it [spring practice] last year. [But] he’s really taken what we saw last year in practice and in games and really worked on it.

“It’s a good challenge every day running against the secondary that we have and that we put on the field. Jerry has been out there being very competitive. He’s made his plays and I can see growth every day.”

Jeudy will look to have his strong offseason carry over into training camp, and ultimately into the 2021 regular season. Jeudy and the Broncos will open the season against the New York Giants in Week 1 on Sept. 12.
