The Denver Broncos claimed linebacker Natrez Patrick off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams on Friday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire. Patrick won’t officially join Denver’s offseason roster until after Super Bowl LV (Feb. 8).
Patrick (6-3, 242 pounds) played college football at Georgia and signed with Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent in 2019. With the Bulldogs, Patrick recorded 160 tackles (including 14 tackles for losses), two sacks and one pass breakup. In 25 games with the Rams, Patrick totaled five tackles. He has played primarily on special teams in the NFL.
Patrick is scheduled to earn a base salary of $850,000 this fall before becoming a free agent in 2022. He wore No. 57 in Los Angeles.
Earlier this week, the Broncos also signed center Patrick Morris to a future contract. Morris became the 11th player Denver has signed to a future contract this offseason. The future contract signees will officially join the roster when the new league year begins on March 17.
